▸ Want to know what the weather was on the date/place you were born?
▸ Is it colder or warmer than 50 years ago in my home town?
▸ Should I pack a jacket for any date for my next vacation?

This is the App to do just that.

This extraordinary App puts weather and climate in context, with NOAA-provided climate data for 1,000 U.S. locations/zip codes for dates between 1948 and 2013. V1.425 displays more than 22 million dates, each with 12 climate attributes, or about 465 million data points — nearly half a billion values — within a few seconds.

Climatology is simply the most accurate, comprehensive, fun-to-use climate reporting available in an App.

Climatology shows you historical weather/climate conditions and gives you the normal ranges and extremes, as well. The App returns requested weather information in a matter of seconds, with no need to navigate complex menus or fill out endless cryptic forms.

You scroll through easy-to-read state and place dials to choose your desired location, and Climatology downloads data (via Wi-fi) to your iPad. Then tap on the colorful 3D selector to find your year/month/date and to see values for high and low temperatures, humidity, dew point, wind speed, and barometric pressure for that day. The App also compares each climate attribute to other dates within the time frame (66 years).

Cloud cover icons illustrate weather on the day you selected; the narratives screen gives you access by state and weather zone to 75,000 randomly-selected interesting/poignant observations from official local weather monitors.

Tap on the Weathergram© to email greetings to your friends and family on their birthdays or anniversaries, or when youre on vacation someplace nice and want to rub it in. Climatology suggests some wording, but you can customize your message any way you like.

Our unique planning feature displays the percentage probabilities of future temperatures for any given location/date. The “normals” button shows you for every day of the year, for each climate attribute, the lowest record value and date, the below normal value, the normal value, the above normal value, the record high value, and date. This can be used to view a week or month or more of climate data at the same time — great for wedding or vacation planning.

In order for a place/city to be included in this version of Climatology, it must possess an active weather station inside the same zip code boundary plus 66 years of adjoining weather stations within 25 miles from the active weather station.

Proprietary algorithms, developed by a Ph.D. Climatologist, were used to provide the highest quality data and to ensure that the data you want is as accurate as humanly possible, given 66 years of technology changes.

The National Climate Data Center (NCDC) in Asheville, North Carolina, supplied the raw data we used to create this App. We thank them.
